Arranging An Appointment
My usual office hours are between 8.30am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday. I do offer out of hours appointments and weekend appointments for urgent matters.
I can meet with you at any of the offices of Mackenzie Jones Solicitors in St Asaph, Chester or Menai Bridge.
By arrangement, I can see you at your place of business, at your home or at another convenient location.
I will try to see you at short notice, usually within 24 hours.
Where possible, and in order to save time and expense for you, I will try to complete your notarial assignment in one appointment.
To enable me to do so, it is important that the following instructions are followed carefully;
- I will need to you to send me (preferably by e-mail) the document or documents which require my seal and signature. Please check all documents carefully for errors in your name, address or passport number. Provided I have received the document(s) electronically I should be able to make any necessary amendments for you.
- Please forward to me the instructions which you have received from any foreign lawyer who has prepared the document. These instructions may contain important requirements, for example, the need to sign each page of the document, the number of witnesses required or even the colour of the ink I must use.
- Please do not sign any document before we meet, as it is imperative that you sign this in my presence.
- You will need to produce evidence of ID. Ideally, this will consist of your current passport or modern driving licence together a document which proves where you live, such as a recent utility bill or bank statement. The authenticity of such documents will be checked by me.
- If the document to be notarised is written in a foreign language which you do not fully understand, then I will insist on obtaining a formal translation for you. This will firstly result in a delay whilst the translation is being obtained and secondly added expense for you.
- For business clients, in addition to checking personal identity, I am required to establish that the Company or organisation which you represent actually exists and that you are authorised to represent that Company or organisation. When we first speak I will confirm the nature of the documentation you will need to produce at your appointment in order to meet these requirements.
